Dear Parents,

The school year is about to begin and we are happy to welcome many new children to our Future Kid’s family.  We hope that your child has a wonderful experience with us.  As summer nears its end, here are a few important reminders:

Thursday, August 9th is the last official day of Summer VPK.  The VPK children will have a “Goodbye” class party on Wednesday, August 8th and a fieldtrip to Powertumble Gymnastics & Sports Center on Thursday, August 9thIf you would like to bring your child for drop-in care on Friday, August 10th, our Summer Camp program is available.  Please see the office staff for our daily rates.

On Wednesday, August 15th there will be an Orientation Meeting at 5:45 p.m. for parents whose children will be starting our school-year VPK Program.  This program is for children who turn four-years-old by September 1, 2012.  The purpose of the orientation meeting is to introduce you to our teachers and share information about VPK standards and our program policies and procedures.

Immediately following the VPK orientation meeting, we will have a workshop for all interested parents about “Separation Anxiety” which will start at 6:30 p.m.   This will be led by Juan Ricardo Diaz, author, trainer, and Hispanic leader in the field of wellness and self-improvement.  This will be the first of a series of parenting workshops that we will have throughout the year.

Monday, August 20th will be the first official day of school, and the start of new classrooms for many of our children, although not all, as it will depend on their birthdates.    Beginning that day and throughout the rest of the school year, the children will be required to wear their uniforms every Monday through Thursday.  On Fridays, we will have “Color Days.”  Colors to wear will be indicated in each monthly calendar.

Lists for new classrooms will be posted by August 13th.  In order to make their transitions smoother, during the week of August 13th, children who are currently enrolled will be visiting their new classrooms for short periods of time throughout the day with their current teachers.  This will allow the children to meet their new teachers and familiarize themselves with their new surroundings prior to the official start date of August 20th.

For children who have graduated from our VPK program and will be going to Kindergarten, please be aware that we have After-School Care available.  Our After-School program includes a healthy lunch, homework help, Karate and Mandarin classes, math and science experimentation, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.  Please see the office for more information.

As the school year begins, Mandarin classes will continue for all children who are three-years-old and over.  Karate, Ballet, and Music & Dance are optional courses.   If you would like for your child (age three and over) to participate in any of these, please make sure to sign him or her up in the office.  Sign-up sheets will be posted at the front desk.  We look forward to a fabulous year!!!

Future Kids Staff.
